Some Definitions for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission

Central Government Employee: An Employee who draws his emoluments from the consolidated fund in India

Transferable: An Employee who has been transferred at least once in the preceding 7 years shall be deemed to be transferable

Transfer: An Employee would be treated as transferred only if he/she has been transferred by the competent authority from one place to another place which has distance of at-least 20km and minimum stay at a place should be six months.

Autonomous Bodies / Public Sector Units: Organizations which are fully financed or where the government share is more than 51%

Single Girl Child: Single Girl Child means the single girl child of the parents with no siblings

Reservation in Kendriya Vidyalaya

15% Seats are reserve for the Scheduled Caste Candidates

7.5% Seats are reserve for the Scheduled Tribes Candidates

3% Seats are reserve for the differently abled candidates (दिव्यांगों के लिए)

Admission while have Transfer Certificate (TC)

Admission of Student who has Kendriya Vidyalaya TC will be automatic (Over and above Class Strength) if Student Parent transfer from one place to another.

Defense Personnel and Para-Military Forces who wants to shift their families to a station of their choice in case of posted in Naxal areas.

In all other cases where transfer is not involve Kendriya Vidyalaya TC admission only permitted by the Deputy Commissioner of the region concerned.

All cases of Local Transfer would be done with the approval of Deputy Commissioner with Merit List.

A student has Kendriya Vidyalaya TC admission only permitted up to class strength of 45, however Deputy Commissioner of the region empowered with the authority to allow admission.

Admission in Class 10th & Class 12th

Student courses should be same i.e. CBSE-Affiliated School

For Class 10th the child must have at-least 55% marks in Class 9th

For Class 12th the child must have at-least 55% marks in Class 11th

As per Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Guidelines Student should be eligible for the Admission

Combination of subject student studied are available in Kendriya Vidyalaya

Children and grandchildren of Honorable Members of the Parliament

Children and grandchildren of serving retired Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Employees

Children of Central Government Employee who die in harness

Children of Honorable Soldiers (Recipients of Paramveer Chakra, Mahavir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shourya Chakra, Sena Medal (Army), NavSena Medal (Navy), VayuSena Medal (Air Force)

Police Personnel Who Received Gallantry Medal from Honorable Presidents of India.

Meritorious Sports Children who has secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place in state level games organized by government.

Recipients of Rashtrapati Puruskar in Scouts & Guides

Single Admission would be treated in case of twin girls

Children Recipients of National Bravery Awards or Balshree Awards instituted by National Bal Bhavan.

Children whose parents are teacher and recipients of National Award for Teachers.

Children who has been recognize at National or state level for his special talent in Fine Arts.

100 Children of employees of the Ministry of HRD would be admitted every year on orders issue by Kendriya Vidyalaya Head Quarters up to 30th June.

60 Children of employees of the Ministry of External Affairs would be admitted every year anywhere in the India on orders issue by Kendriya Vidyalaya Head Quarters up to 30th June.

15 Children of employees of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) would be admitted every year anywhere in the India. Employee who maximum serve 5 years in Delhi and remaining outside Delhi.
